1. Lituania isn’t a country which is known for his cyclisme, how did you start and who was your example?
Lithuania is well-known, at least for women's cycling and I could follow worthy models like Edita Pucinskaite, Rasa Mazeikyte, Diana Ziliute, etc.

2. Being always in Italy the last years, don’t you miss your homecountry?
I left home when I was 12, I was invited to live in a special school for cycling. So I'm used to staying far away from home and family. But I miss it so much and so when I go back to Lithuania I always spend some wonderful days!
I lived in Italy till 2006, but now I live elsewhere.

3. Are you a naturel talent on the bike or do you have to train hard ?
I suppose I come from a family of talented cyclists...with muscles made for cycling. My uncles were cyclists, one was also a very strong cyclist of the ex-USSR national team. My brothers and my sister did cycling too, but now only me and two of my cousins (Ausrine Trebaite and Edita Janeliunaite) are still cyclists.
4. After being in Italian team you joined Team Nürnberger in 2007 was it a big difference?
Yes, there was a big change in terms of mentality.

5. In 2009 you will race for team Bigla what do you expect of the Swiss way of living?
I simply expect that everything is going to be alright and that I will be able to train properly.

6. After a good season in 2006 you suffered a lot in 2007. Can you tell the readers what happened in 2007?
I started having problems in 2006...I was diagnosed with mononucleosis. Also in 2007 I had some serious health problems and so my doctor told me I had to stop my activity till the end of the year if I wanted to come back stronger.

7. Which things in live do you like besides cyling??
I attend the Lithuanian Academy of Physical Education since 2006...my studies in "Health and Fitness" should finish in 2010.
If we talk about my hobbies... I like to dance, to care about my beauty ;-), to clean the house...for real :-) and to do shopping!

8. What is the best thing that ever happened to you in cycling ? and the worst?
When I won Lithuanian championships in memory of my friend Zita Urbonaite. Also being in Peking at the Olympic Games was unforgettable.
The worst...perhaps in 2005 when my old team didn't allow me to race for two months...and so I wasn't able to train properly for the World Championships and I was very sad for it. Well, of course also 2006-2007 weren't so happy because of my health problems.

9. Can you describe what kind of cyclist you are?
Well, I like races with steep and short climbs (1-4 km).

10. What do you think of your career so far?
I still have many little goals and dreams.

11. What do you think about all the doping-affairs? Is women-cycling clean?
I'm sorry that these things happen and that some people aren't so concerned about their health...and that perhaps later doping could bring a bad surprise to them.
There are cheaters not only in cycling, but I don't why only cycling has this bad reputation.
As you know there are positive cases in women cycling...so there are dopers also in our peloton.

12. What is the biggest goal in your career and why?
Standing on the podium of a World Championship: why? I don't know but this is my dream since 1998, when I saw for the first time a World Championship in person and on that occasion Diana Ziliute won. Perhaps my dream began there.

13. Do you have real friends in the peloton and if so who
Zita Urbonaite was a real friend.

Thüringen Rundfahrt and Mendrisio (World Championships)

15. What are you favorite races and tracks?
I like very much races like Thüringen Rundfahrt and Giro di San Marino...

16. Isn’t training sometimes lonely or do you train with other girls?
When I was a little girls I always trained with a group...during the last two years nearly always alone, but I hope it will be different this year ;-)
